Blog: Colleagues

Colleagues play a major role in creating a goal-oriented, supportive and positive environment at work. It is indeed very imperative to have such a milieu. Sheer luck is when they become good friends. Most of the time it’s competition, recognition and self-gain that goad them to do better in their line of work. They are unavoidable and it is always good to be adaptable to any given situation. A good colleague is not only helpful and understanding but also a team player.

Individuals who respectfully convey information are approached more. People who are flexible face less issues. There is a lot of growth when any change is welcomed with open arms and unnecessary criticism is at bay. This attitude strengthens strategies to make things work. Some are proactive and flexible. Good communication solves problems and this way misunderstandings are avoided. Creative minds don’t indulge in gossip and through their creativity show results.

Good coordinators often aim to meet deadlines without any excuses. Few even reach out to ease the workload of others. Some are pretty honest about their opinions and may attract anger and backstabbing. It is always nice to be friendly with one’s peers. Arrogance and selfishness spoil the fun of working under one roof. A very small number of humans feel happy if the other is promoted. On the surface they show they are pleased but most of the time it’s jealousy that burns and rots the equation.

Attentive, go-getters, reliable, focussed, accountable, passionate and organized workmates make the work environment breathable and less stressful. Colleagues who go on tea breaks together without any ulterior motive can become someone whom we can trust and during the time of personal crisis may have effective solutions. This way they enter our inner circle and any work related problem can be met with a better grip and agenda.

Some are dishonest, lack initiative, steal, lie, take credit for our work, and are resistant to change. Aggressive, ill-mannered and people pleasers are not likeable at all and are always kept at a distance. Manipulative and authoritative ones never make it to the good books of anyone. Humble, confident, efficient and hardworking colleagues make the cut. Some are born leaders and some are bad at time management. Overconfident and stubborn humans hardly make progress. The ones who are decisive and introspective go a long way and work as a team.
