Blog: Denial

It helps a great deal in delaying things that matter to the heart. Protects from unnecessary stress. Acts as a useful defence mechanism for any individual who is in shock, anxious and depressed. Boosts morale and somehow this way hopes remain alive. Any unsavory situation needs time and acceptance but disclaiming it maintains peace of mind. Mind does not get distracted and there is no emotional overdose. Anger stays in check and one can focus better.

Optimism increases and any illness or challenge is dealt with calmness and a positive attitude. Self-destructive behaviours are at bay. Emotional outbursts are contained and happiness gets a second chance. It’s overwhelming indeed when anyone is struck by catastrophe and then denying it brings back smiles. From within there is a feeling of possibilities when humans negate realities of life. A temporary shutdown from disasters that have happened instil normalcy.

The intensity of emotional pain grips from all corners when we keep retracting from the truth. Conditions get severe and one gets stuck in this cycle of self-pity, grief, doubts and pessimism. There is no brighter side to the problem and eats one up. Courage and companionship fail to stay by our side. Lonely spells are enjoyed as people tend to behave like reminders of destruction.

Daily life is not hit and continuity happens without any disruption. Tragedies and setbacks halt progress. It gives time to process the magnitude of loss. Dark thoughts are cleared when they are not given importance. Keeping them in the buffer zone streamlines things and perspectives. Trauma wrecks havoc and one is unable to think straight. Solutions come with a lot of effort. Everything becomes chaotic and meaningless. Completely rubbishing it all improves situations.

Constant denial stops personal growth. Inefficiency trebles. Facing circumstances head on adds to experiences. When we don’t own up when we make mistakes it congests big. When we address problems we become reformed individuals. The zeal to make things right takes the cake. But if we keep pushing it for long this may damage relationships and corporate equations. One turns into a negative being. Everything looks irrelevant. A cacoon builds on its own and one prefers staying there to avoid any criticism. It can be lethal and chronic if unchecked.
