Blog: Picnics
Picnics are fun and are great to connect with family and friends. Children should be given time to be alone with their age group to mingle and also learn about themselves. Spending time in natural environments can turn out to be rejuvenating. We adapt to nature and joy derived from it doubles. They also give us an opportunity to bring our favourite food to the venue so as to share it with others. This way picnics become a medium to explore different cultures and cuisines.
They tend to attract wild animals and situations can turn awry when unknowingly we mess with their peace. Our presence in their territory may disturb their routines. Animals can feel threatened and may end up attacking us to save themselves. Noise creates anxiety for the local wildlife thus unpredictable behaviour can be really scary. Soil can get polluted by unnecessary littering. Production of waste increases and overall it harms the environment.
Organizing picnics can be quite a challenge but if done right they can be so relaxing. Picnics allow us to take a break from our stressful lives. We conquer mental problems by spending quality time in the lap of nature. Calm and ease descend after we switch off our electronic gadgets while outdoors. We stay active when outside. Fresh air sets the mood. We get the boost of Vitamin D in our systems. Family bonding becomes top priority during picnics.
Healthy eating takes centre stage. The flip side can be that food attracts bugs and local pets during outdoors. Food turns cold and may aid in mood swings if hot food is the flavor usually. Dirt can contaminate edibles but necessary care can reverse all fears and worries. Foldable chairs and tables can turn it all around. When we are present in the moment then it not only enhances social skills but also our creative side comes to the forefront. We overthink less and appreciate our world more.
A feel good factor resurfaces when we go out for picnics. We are happy and laugh wholeheartedly without any pretensions. Laughter is medicine for the soul and people who matter when they accompany us to such escapades then there is bound to be growth, stronger bonds, renewed energy and satisfaction. We behave better and responsibly. They break the monotony of life and act as a blissful diversion. Picnics can be romantic too. They bring variety to our lives.
