Book Review: The Eyes of Darkness by Dean Koontz
Dean Koontz, an American writer released this classic thriller in 1981 that brings to light a divorced mother’s mission to find the real truth regarding her 12-year-old son Danny’s mysterious death. The protagonist of the novel Christina Evans has nightmares that convey to her that her son is alive and asking for help. The concept of telekinesis which is supposedly the ability to move objects by mental power has been showcased beautifully in this book. As the book progresses, one feels the usage of paranormal activity too has played its part in keeping the interest of the reader alive. The fictional novel has a romantic angle through Elliot Stryker, the lawyer, who is in love with Christina and plays an important part in unraveling the mystery of Danny Evans’ death. Psychic abilities have been talked about at length which sound believable.
A dark secret involving the government’s science lab cloer to Las Vegas is unearthed by the lovebirds. There is horror, suspense, romance, anger, betrayal, and pain throughout the entire book. The efforts to get back to life after loss have also been highlighted in the story. It’s a very engaging read and a page turner. One can be hooked till the very end because it has an interesting plot with a happy ending.
