English Poetry: Dates
Few bring smiles
some haunt
resonate in life’s files
some taunt.
Horrific and sad
there is no escape
dull and bad
they push to wear a brave cape.
Lots of them bring joy
hearts remember lovingly
every time multiplying bliss O boy!
year after year celebrated unfailingly.
We wait for bated breath for some
praying in unison day after day
worth every struggle we overcome
and are full of positive and hopeful rays.
Dates rule lives
absorbing fully
hitting as knives
some daily, monthly, and annually.
Those that flourish and nourish on memory
remove burdens without any efforts
they have an indefinable sorcery
that help in holding outer and inner forts.
