English Poetry: Fear

Heartbeat races
it’s normal to have horrific faces.
Panic attacks happen
for both men and women.
Children are in distress
it’s hard to suppress.
Sleep goes for a toss
as dread is the boss.
It overpowers
then life is not a flower.
Anxiety and doubts live here easily
courage is shaken and everything is silly.
Worries double
it’s nothing but trouble.
Nerves are not in control
one fails to follow protocols.
Cowardice finds roots
people don’t care two hoots.
Faith dwindles
in its grip it seems fate swindles.
Fright takes over
one runs for cover.
Sweat and tears are common
terror summons.
Peace is invaded
everything looks jaded.
Screams and shock fill days
it’s scary and far from joyful rays.
