English Poetry: Scarecrow

Noisy crows fill his ears
a lone soldier with a thatched hat
scary as hell generating fear
birds played with his straw when on him they sat.

Human-shaped decoy for saving crops
fields are somehow safe thanks to him
stubborn entities in his presence still hop
his being makes matters grim.

A relief for farmers when he is around
a wooden frame part of his gear
frightful without a sound
crows never find him dear.

Can weather any storm
bankable to the core
people mock at his form
keeps standing even if he is sore.

Stuffed and stiff
stylish he is not
silent even in a tiff
farmers like him a lot.

Tired of standing
hardly complains
sober and undemanding
if you have him there is a lot to gain.
