A friend in need is a friend indeed. A silent companion and comforter without any complaints is the beauty of a pillow. Hours of anxiety witness perpetual squeezing between our arms and sits pretty on our chest when troublesome thoughts cloud our minds. Often they are mute spectators of our trials and struggles. Eyeing us from the comforts of the hood of the bed pillows are therapeutic. In the absence of a human being it feels like one when you cling to it. Sound sleep inducer is one of the many aliases. A pillow through its softness is the best cuddle up.

Our childhood has seen many pillow fights with our siblings. The fun of fighting with your pillow as an armour has unmeasurable joy. It’s our best defense that may help us win the mini battle at hand. Watching your kids indulging in the same activity is nostalgia. Sleepovers of friends invite pillow fights. There are hardly any injuries and they are harmless because they are so soft. The cutest weapons for a phenomenal experience. They aid in tact and strategy to win these fun filled activities.

It provides support to our backs and necks when pains make their presence felt. For long hours it can be tucked under our hips, legs, shoulders and entire body without batting an eyelid. Time and again it has a considerable impact on our well being. A good pillow is the medicine for insomnia, a chronic back or neck. Various types of pillows have flooded the market. A memory foam pillow adjusts itself to our shape and reacts to our pressure and body heat and induces sleep accordingly. Another type is the feather pillow which is made of soft feathers and very light in nature. It acts as a cushion and is very flexible and durable. Micro bead pillows provide good air flow and latex pillows are good for a longer use. A latex pillow is not only biodegradable but is free from any harmful chemical. Body pillows are meant for the entire body and are longer in size for utmost comfort.

When sleeping couples use it as a temporary bridge between them post an argument. An unwanted trespass in their personal space can be best averted with their help and presence on the bed. During discussions, be it heated or just like that, placing them on our thighs goes a long way. They act as a participant with zero interaction. While clicking photographs women use it to shield their bulging bellies so as to avoid embarrassment. An Indian woman has the habit of covering her breasts from male gaze. A visitor when comes unannounced to any home then a pillow works as the best dupatta or covering.

Our tears often settle on pillows. Depressive spells and when we are at our lowest automatically lead to spilling. For hours or for a short time pillows absorb our sorrow. The stains on them bear testimony to our difficult times. They don’t judge us but are there with their unflinching support. They are best friends without any sound. Their being in our lives is pure gratitude.
