English Poetry: Diaries

Close to heart
as if a best friend
from the very start
here secrets have no end.

O flip those pages and drool
even now they are so delicious
from childhood and school
those notes are precious.

For some they are lifelines
absorbing all and patiently listening
beautifully holding-in rants and whines
memories keep on glistening.

Comforting sans judgments
remembering it all
helping people scream in fragments
pens take the fall.

Some follow to the grave
transparency their signature
burdened souls unburden and rave
thus clearing emotional moisture.

On them withered flowers leave marks
for years protecting them and their stories
tales grim, painful, joyous and dark
live here and add to the histories.
