The Beauty of Books

A book in hand is a companion in tow. Reading helps our brain to be more active and gives a different perspective to life. Books are guides. They give information and expose us to new ways, understandings and new insights to handle situations. They give us knowledge on various subjects and expand our spectrum of thoughts and their conditioning. They aid in boosting our memory as well as strengthen and stimulate our mind to a new high. For some they are the most important things in their world. Books can be a habit like a drug habit. Getting habituated to reading in our early childhood sets the benchmark for future addiction. An addiction that aids in gathering wisdom about so many things Mother Earth has to offer to humanity in general.

Books touch without touching. They are the harbingers of comfort and positivity. They are stress busters and reduce depression. Each book is an experience in itself. The best way to educate oneself is to immerse fully. So much can be learnt through them. Reading self-help books is a great way to deal with issues that block our growth. They are light at the end of a dark tunnel that does not have any directions. They direct us to a prosperous path of self righteousness, good conduct and lengthen lifespans. Airports, railway stations and other public places see many book readers. They are the much needed soothing balm while waiting for flights or trains. Cafes and restaurants see lone readers who diffuse unnecessary and unwanted attention from strangers by indulging in them. They come handy in the times of standing in a queue to avoid boredom too.

Devouring a book just before bedtime induces good sleep. Winter nights in their long, cold and silent spreads demand a good read. Tucking oneself in the warmest of quilts and reading have perks. A rainy season in its humidity and wild winds beckons bibliophiles to hold a book in hand and sip on hot beverages for a satisfying adventure. Toddlers asking their parents to read them stories is actually a book lover in the making that act as lullabies too. Lying in the arms of a loved one be it a guardian, parent, sibling, lover or friend and then reading is a soothing activity. A sound sleep is unquestionable then. Next morning when it is still found on our chests or if they sit pretty on our beds then this sight leads to effortless smiles.

Books are saviours for anxious souls. They calm our minds and improve our memory. They increase our creativity. They help in having a better grip on English and vocabulary. A good reader can become a writer too in the future. A voracious reader or a bookworm can weave different styles of write ups that may entertain and educate readers simultaneously. Books need time and sometimes reading a paragraph or a page everyday may help in clearing doubts or chaos within. Imaginations go to new levels of exploration and mental stimulation reach new zeniths. Our cognitive skills sharpen with good analytical books. Books on travel, lifestyle, health, news, illnesses, medicine, entertainment, fashion, interior decoration, science and other subjects help us focus and concentrate for better results. They make us aware of things that need research and feed our curious minds.

Novels, journals, comics, autobiographies and biographies hold importance too as characters and plots showcase a wider angle of imaginations that have subplots to make it more interesting and readable for a wholesome experience. A world without books is like food without salt. Books play a significant role for the much needed balance in life. Some are interactive that demand answers and shape impressionable minds of young students and the like. They assist, expand and develop language skills and if read together they build strong emotional bonds too.
