Coronavirus Pandemic – A gain

Polished nails, manicured hands, chic hairdo, and shining skin post waxing defined women & men before the coronavirus struck in January 2020 globally. A pandemic so deadly that it has jeopardized life and interactions for humans. A tiny lapse leads to its entry into our systems that may cripple us for life and even lead to death. Precaution is key and safeguarding oneself from proximity of any kind is mandatory for survival. Social distancing is the new norm with masks as fashion statements as well as a necessity. Days on end staying indoors huddled with your family is in vogue and an intelligent move sans any judgments.

The industry of beauty is hit too. It’s a business so profitable that in general, it’s an in-thing as well as essential for overall confidence & hip exteriors. Salons & parlors faced lockdowns too. Lockdowns will keep happening until the virus is completely erased from the globe through a vaccine or antidote. 2020 so far is doomed but all is not so over the hill. These lockdowns helped unmask the natural looks of individuals. It felt like kindergarten where being yourself oozed confidence and a sense of acceptance. Nothing is wrong with beautification of oneself but being slaves to anything is a serious illness. Covid19 by forcing itself on humans made this elusive cut of being natural. Body hair was not shamed but appreciated as an act of sensibility. Of Course, personal groomers who had taken training were not hit. Their schedules did see alterations but personal grooming was and is followed to the T. Generally, humanity just went with the flow by letting their hair down and flaunted grey hair, unwaxed bodies, long hairdos, beards, and unpainted hands too.

A surge in homemade remedies happened. Artificiality took a backseat. Beauty products lost their charm. Growth of hair did not break hearts but witnessed an acceptance from family members, friends, strangers & well wishers. What mattered was safety and the need to stay indoors to avoid the virus at all costs. Technological induced interactions helped people see and receive all sorts of reactions. Some good some bad thus strengthening that inner confidence that got a boost only post a visit to the parlor. Being comfortable in one’s natural look is trendy and is still trending and will trend for some time. Weddings saw and still see no over the top bridal makeups. A sense of balance is living and extremities are finally out of the door for good. Some damage to monthly grooming came in the form of charred skin in the absence of routine facials indeed but a good diet erases such requirements too. It works internally thus nullifying the need to resort to artificial beauty enhancers.

A natural look could be ugly for some as it showcases the usual hair growth with which we are born. This pandemic helped shed inhibitions and aided people to adapt to the new normal. Not all is lost this pandemic 2020. Body hair is charming, irritating some, and teasing some. Mood swings are doubling as routines have been disrupted by the ongoing virus for sure but a humongous amount of people are opting to stay natural with necessary and unavoidable trims thus bringing back smiles and more.
